Awesome realistic replica, scope is junk, good bayonet display

Unfortunately the wood kar98 without scope was out of stock so I had to buy this one. It comes with a generic "tasco" scope although that may be a a fake so basically it's worth about $10 but the rail mount is usable although I've never even understood why you would need a scope on an airsoft gun. The scope bears no resemblance to an original. Otherwise the gun is a fantastic replica out of the box but will need to be stripped and refinish to add realism. The wood is teak and lightly coated so it kind of looks like walnut and can take a stain.not the fake grain ash they like to use on "real wood" The shell ejecting models are becoming hard to find newer models have a magazine and more suitable for airsoft. This gun is for WW2/ German airgun collectors like me who can't get a pellet version of this and realistically never will own a real one. This is all aluminum alloy except sights, including bayonet lug, but parts are interchangeable with the real deal. The cleaning rod is fake but can be removed for bayonet mounting. I have a German bayonet collection and now I can display one at a time properly on the rifle they were meant for!
The shells are also aluminum and about $5 each if you can find them. There is no stripper clip included but apparently the real ones work. They get a little chewed up on the o ring side when the bolt isn't engaging properly which it does take some getting used to so it's inevitable but as long as the o ring is good it doesn't matter. Some people make their own out of real brass shells. I've read about complaints with the d boys model (same thing) having a 2 piece barrel and needing upgrade but mine shoots straight after switching to .25 BBs and slightly adjusting hop up... Snatch this bad boy up while you can, maybe throw the scope on a pellet gun, restocking airsoft guns from china seems to be non-existent in the last year and isn't getting better.
