Knife wasn’t locking and the spring access did not work very good.

The Elk Ridge ER-A009BW is a great knife, especially for the price. The Pakkawood handle is a good looking wood that is nicely complimented by the black metal components. The spring assist works great and locks in place easily. It sports a slightly extended lock release tab that is easy to operate by anyone. It's an ideal carry knife that I plan to use everyday. It's sure to get a compliment or two when you use this knife!

I bough one of these a few months ago. Couldn't stand the idea that if it broke I did not have another as standby. Problem solved. Had to buy two to make sure. This knife opens quickly, locks in place and is very sharp and easy to keep that way. Love it!
Great Value in a Large Folder

Elk Ridge is a manufacturer or low cost knives in the PRC. The company is owned by Master Cutlery. Their quality control is above average. Although not detailed in the packaging or on the knife the blade steel is almost certain to be in the 440 family. This looks and feels like a substantial knife. I consider it a "Hunter" with the 3.75" Bowie blade profile. This may be a little heavy for for a daily carry for some but for an individual looking for a working man's knife at a bargain price you would be hard pressed to do better. One caveat.... I don't have much experience with the black coating on this knives blade and cannot attest to it's durability.
